MISSION BEACH AQUATIC FESTIVAL
Sarongs and Thongs will be the appropriate gear, plus sunnies, to wear at this year's Aquatic Festival.
The Festival will be launched on Friday the 5th October at Mission Beach Artists' Gallery from
5PM. Come along for relaxation, wine, food and entertainment. Information: 4088 6056
New competitions such as Thong Throwing, Thong Painting and the Singer/ Songwriter will test your skills.
Sarongs will be created and paraded.
Old favourites like the Iron Man/Maiden Races, the Tinnie Races and the Lolly Drop will whet your appetite on Sunday.
Live Music staged by the BEACH BOYZ, Adahmo, Section 19, Green Zone and Liquid Lounge will all help you enjoy
the weekend.
Fireworks at 8.30PM on Saturday, The Firies Kitchen and Bollywood Dancing are all displays not to be missed.
New attractions include: Triathalon Saturday/Sunday: Watch the V8 Supercars Bathurst Race on screen (Sunday 10AM - 6PM
) and a Jet Ski Race display.
Facilities will include, food stalls, night market, good parking and toilet/ ablution blocks for Ladies and Men, and a
special unit with a ramp for the aged, people with disabilities and parents with little children. These unit/ blocks will
be available thanks to a grant from Queensland Events.
The Committee would welcome help with setting up the site on Friday the 5th October from 9AM onwards and
at the end of the Festival at 6PM on Sunday.
During the weekend help in the Administration tent and ensuring the site is kept clean and tidy would be much appreciated.
