After the Local Government elections on 15 March 2008, for the first time since 1851, the Mission Beach area will be governed at the local government level by one Regional Council.

Many people and organisations in Mission Beach have put considerable effort into having the Queensland Government recognize the need for our district to be under one Council.

The Mission Beach Community Association (MBCA) therefore is proposing a COMMUNITY PARTY on

Sunday 16 MARCH 2008 at MARCS Park to celebrate this historic occasion.

While MBCA is prepared to facilitate this community celebration, your organisation's support in making it a truly community function is vitally necessary.

To this end a meeting to discuss the COMMUNITY PARTY has been called for Tuesday 12 FEBRUARY 2008 at the Mission Beach Surf Life Saving Club - Kennedy Esplanade - South Mission Beach beginning at 7.30 Pm.
