New Year's Day
All CSC subsidies on sewerage connections have been
extended til end February. From 1st July 2007, there has been a fee on the discharging of septic tank waste at the Tully Sewage
Treatment Plant. To partially offset the extra cost to property owners who have not yet connected to the Mission Beach Sewerage
Scheme, the subsidy on new connections to existing developments will be increased from $600 per property connected to $630.00
from that date.
The discharge licence of Tully Sewage Treatment Works
requires CSC commencement of effulent reuse for the discharge from the Plant when the flow in Banyan Creek (the receiving
course) drops to below 2.5 cubic metres per second, and completely reuses the effulent when the flow reduces to below 0.5
cubic metres per second.
