The Felton Valley has historical significance, being one of the first areas settled on the Darling Downs, with Felton Homestead being built in 1870 by renowned pastoral pioneer, James Tyson.
The valley is presently a happy and cohesive community in a highly productive agricultural region, producing a diverse
range of crops and livestock. Being on the eastern Downs, it is endowed with rich black alluvial soils and is one of the more
reliable rainfall areas of the core cropping country of the Downs.
Felton valley landholders have worked hard over many years to successfully implement and promote sustainable land management.
